My Story: Kayleen

Hello there! I am Kayleen Sullivan, a junior at UCLA graduating in spring with my B.A. in Communication Studies. I met Sam as a social media intern for the Rural Division of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where he helped build my skills in social media analytics, content creation, and digital storytelling. Now I have been Sam’s digital media intern since October and I am loving navigating the digital world of social entrepreneurship and non-profit organizations.

My passion for service has led me to several different communications roles both on and off the UCLA campus. On the leadership board of the Undergraduate Communication Association (UCA), I write our bi-weekly newsletter and help connect students to opportunities in communications-related industries. I volunteer and help run publicity for Women & Youth Supporting Each Other (WYSE), an all-female empowerment club that mentors middle school girls from under-resourced districts in LA. Also, I just completed an internship at a wine and food public relations firm that improved my strategic writing and bolstered my foodie knowledge.

I am high-energy, love connecting with new people, and am always in the mood for a good funny story. I look forward to getting to know you and hearing more about your projects!
